Chandelier over the bathtub was really beautiful.
Teppanyaki is always delicious, a la carte superb! We came here for a Christmas meal at 6pm Christmas evening. We were told the sitting would last 2 hours - which it did to the second.
I had never been for teppanyaki before so the concept for me was novel. Set meals were no The was a seafood menu too but I found the whole ordering process quite unclear as I had not been before.
We were a group of 4 and I left it to some one else to order. Since I don't eat meat I did not try the chicken, beef or duck - but the others said the duck was fatty.
I tasted scollops, calamari and tuna. The tuna was EXCELLENT but the others were average. We also had vegetables and friend rice. Portions were small e.
I left hungry as I couldn't eat a lot of it but the rice last serve was more filling. We had hoped we could order more as we went along - but was told we would not be able to do this.
Drinks were dear. Due to the meals being cooked in front of you - I left smelling of the fried food. Teppanyaki and drinks over a freindly business catch up.
Other diners were also very friendly. Not a busy day but well serviced. Staff good and food excellent even a bit expensive.
The food was excellent as was the surroundings situated in South Bank. If you like Japanese food I would highly recommend. Friendly and welcoming waitstaff and Chef who prepared our dishes.
We enjoyed our dinner at Koko with delicious dishes prepared in front of us. Thank you for your wonderful review! Koko has earned a strong reputation in providing an exceptional dining experience and of course producing delicious dishes, I am absolutely delighted to learn that they did not disappoint.

Wine Pairing: De Bortoli 'Black Noble' 60ml. Three words: 'smoke and mirrors'. Ambiance - congested, uncomfortably stuffy, loud music pumping through the restaurant difficult to have conversation food - very, very average.
Service: perfunctory at best. Kenzen, Izakaya Den and Little Ramen Bar absolutely blow Nobu out of the water. Thank you for your review, Cohuna.
Naturally, I was disappointed to read of your recent experience. This is certainly not indicative of the dining experience we aspire to provide, please allow me to extend my sincere apologies for the disappointment.
Rest assured your feedback has been shared with the Restaurant Manager for review. We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again for a more positive experience.
Sincerely, Oliver von Brunn General Manager - Restaurants. Last night was probably my fourth visit and I've been divinely satisfied with food every time.
What must you try here? I say the Black Cod Saikyo Miso, Sashimi which is always top grade and tempura of fish of the day which came with a mysterious spicy batter accompanied with a couple of tangy sauces this time.
And something I wasn't impressed with? The crispy soft shell crab. My all time favourite cocktail is the passion fruit martini with white chocolate scrapings, YUM!
The deconstructed cheese cake was absolutely amazing too. We got lucky with service, although I can see the valid point in many reviews. I made it a point to keep an eye out for waitstaff to grab their attention and make sure our needs were looked after as I didn't want to spoil the experience of some of the others who were there for the first time.
It was apparent that the staff is either too busy or the management has not stressed enough about attending to customers at a better standard.
Whichever it is, I hope the management will address it as acknowledged. As for the ambiance and the hustle and bustle inside, I didn't mind it at all.
We all had a lovely night out and can't wait for the next one as always. We've been here as a couple several times.
This time as as a family group of Took ages to get a menu and then long time for drinks. The waiter was good but marred by behind the scenes service I think.
We ordered wine and saki. The saki was a good half hour and reason was it was being warmed. The wine is kept away from the table so you're up to the mercy of a busy waiter for refill.
So just leave wine on the table. We ordered food individually and it came out at different times so we were never eating together so to speak.
It's the service that's the key. Own or manage this property? Claim your listing for free to respond to reviews, update your profile and much more.
